What is Gymshark's commitment to sustainability?

Updated 10 months ago

Sustainability is not a cultural trend, a political sentiment or another box to tick. It is a duty.

We know we're not as good as we can or want to be. But we will be better. We will do better. Because our planet doesn't have time for empty words, and neither do we.

Sustainability can be complicated, and it can mean a lot of different things to different people. For Gymshark, it means 3 things;

Our Planet, our People, wear more, waste less.

So, what are we doing...

Reducing our environmental impact

  • We've set a Science Based Target, guided by the Science Based Target institute (SBTi)

  • Joined WRAPS's Textiles 2030 Initiative

  • Achieved a BREEAM rating of 'Very Good'

Always respecting Human Rights

  • Joined the Fair Labor Association in 2019.

  • Joined Better Work to improve working conditions and respect labour rights for all workers.

  • We've signed the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment industry in Bangladesh to further protect worker’s manufacturing our garments.

  • Staying true to our Transparency values by publishing our Factory list on our website.

  • We've also published our Modern Slavery statement, where you can read the report in full.

Improving our Product

  • We're committed to using 100% Recycled Polyester by 2025.

  • By 2030, we'll be working to design products that can be reused and recycled which we're working on as part of our Textiles 2030 milestones to define and use circular design standards.

  • For our UK-based customers, we've partnered with Thrift+ to give a second life to your pre loved items.
